Hello members!
I wanted to make you aware of some important changes. We now have a website again for Post 215! A HUGE thank you to Dr. Bill Pipher for taking his own time to put this together and give us another tool to keep our community and members informed of all the events we have to offer. Bill is a very valuable and dedicated member of our Post. He runs the trivia nights, created and maintains our website, and he donates regularly in many ways. So, thank you Bill, you are the highlighted member in this newsletter! Thank you for ALL you do!
Members, we only have a few that are unpaid for 2024 dues. If you could please stop in or mail your dues into the Post, we would love to report at the next district meeting that we are 100% paid!
I would like to thank the Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) for their loyalty and backing of the Auxiliary. They have helped us to come a long way in a short time as far as working with us hand in hand on projects, fundraisers, dinners, breakfasts, and any project thrown our way. If you are a member of either the S.A.L. or the Auxiliary and you have time to help volunteer, we could sure use a few new people to donate some of their time. We have a variety of upcoming events that we need extra volunteers for, as well as giving some of the regular volunteers a break. We have issues with only having the same select people step up to help. If you are proud to carry your card, please, come in and sign up to help, even if only once a month, if you can find the time. Do your part as a member to help so we can donate to the veteran’s projects, raise money for building maintenance, and keep our wonderful Post a nice place for veterans and guests to visit!
We are also working on getting more entertainment on Saturdays. Possible dinners as well, if that works out. However, to do this we need the support of all our members. This may include your volunteer time, or an occasional cover charge, as we do have the lowest drink prices in town. So, to keep things affordable and bring in more fun, we may ask that of you to help the Legion. It is a minimal donation to keep expenses down.
Lastly, I would like to encourage you to check out our new website, Facebook pages, and digital sign on Highway 9 for all the upcoming events. We are back to having two breakfasts a month. March is going to be a very busy month!
March 6, Trivia at the Post.
March 10, Soup and chili cook-off to raise money for the Joan Brady Nursing Scholarship.
March 16, Kid’s Easter Party (get your tickets at the Post, limited amount)
March 23, Shriner’s Casino Bus Trip, ask Dawn Miller for info, or pay at the Post.
March 23, Lakeland Baseball Fundraiser (get your presold ticket).
March 24, Spring Craft Fair, 1-4 p.m.
Mark your calendars for all the fun to be had!
Thank you, Veterans, for our freedom and your service to this great country! Happy Spring!
—Lisa Olinger, Auxiliary President
