Fellow veterans,
I would like to thank everyone that put the time and effort into making the Cancer Fundraiser held October 19 a huge success. It couldn’t have happened without the dedication of the SAL and Auxiliary. It’s events like this that show what our family can do when put to the task.
Speaking of family, the Legion Crawl, which was organized by Dawn Miller, only shows what a true family feeling we have here at Post 215. It was great traveling to the other posts, Bristol, Ligonier, Albion and Rome City. A huge thank you to Dawn! Meeting the folks and the hospitality shown by these posts was rewarding. We also netted close to $600 for the building fund through donations made by the riders on the bus.
Trivia night has returned to the first Wednesday on each month. It is now being held in the event room which gives more room for the teams to concentrate on the questions and answers. I would like to encourage more people to come out and enjoy the fun and partake of the delicious burgers provided by the Auxiliary.
We will be having a special program at our November 26, 7 p.m. Legion meeting. Rachel Baczynski will be thereto talk about different Medicare and Supplement Plans including plans that fit well for those veterans enrolled in VA Health Care.
We are going to rotate the 4th Friday dinner between broasted pork chops, baked steak and fish. I’d like to see a better turnout for these dinners. All Friday dinners are open to the public, so tell your friends and coworkers about the good deals you can get at the Legion.
We are working on plans for a New Year’s Eve Party. Be sure to visit our Facebook page as well as our website: lagrangepost215.org for updates and information.
With Thanksgiving approaching, I’m sure we all have something to be thankful for. I, for one, am thankful for the volunteers that have helped us throughout the year. Also, the kitchen manager, bartenders, the SAL, Auxiliary and the Riders. Without these folks Post 215 wouldn’t be what it is today. FAMILY!
We will be having the traditional Ham, Beans, and Cornbread on Veteran’s Day, November 11. They will be available from noon until evening. FREE to veterans and everyone else can eat for a donation.
I want to wish all the members of Post 215 a very Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.
