I would like to start off with reminding everyone to please get your dues paid for 2025 if you have not already done so. The cost is currently $35 for the year. Our bartenders will be asking to see your current membership cards regularly when you come into the Post. So, please be prepared to show your new card, or be asked to pay if you are not current.
I want to give special thanks to some members who are not only active in our Post, but are extraordinary at what they do voluntarily. I would like to give a shout out to Dawn Miller. Dawn is always volunteering when her schedule allows. But beyond that, she is exceptional at organizing events. Dawn put together our Comedy Night that was a big success, and a new event for the Auxiliary! She also organizes the Casino Bus Trips that raises money for the Shriners. I want to shine the spotlight on her because she is the kind of person we need to keep our fundraisers going, because she takes the initiative to do the leg work for these events. We need more go-getters like Dawn!
Another member I would like to thank is Dr. Bill Pipher. He is also one of our SAL members who goes above and beyond to help our Post by maintaining our fabulous website, lagrangepost215.org and by putting on Trivia Night every month voluntarily. It takes a lot of time and research for these events, and these members do this on their own free time. Amy Pipher, daughter of Bill, also contributes an abundance of personal time and effort to Trivia, even though she lives in Indianapolis! Amy is also a very busy lady, but her heart is in LaGrange with her hometown American Legion!
Although I have only mentioned three of our outstanding members, there are SO many more. For all of those who give up their time to help us all enjoy our Legion at its fullest, THANK YOU! The behind the scenes people never get the credit they deserve. Without these members who put their heart and souls into it, we would not have all the fun, entertainment, or wonderful meals to enjoy! If you find yourself having free time to help volunteer, even if only one time a month, please do so. It is a rewarding feeling to help keep such a great place going strong! Help us spread the word by signing up friends and family who are eligible to be a member of the best American Legion in the Fourth District!

We will be hosting our annual Chili/Soup Cookoff fundraiser for our Medical and Building Trades Scholarships in March, as well as our annual Shriner’s Casino bus trip! Any and all donations are welcome for Shriner’s and Scholarships! We will also be hosting an Easter Party for the Kids!
