Greetings Everyone,
I can’t believe that March is almost here. These last two months have seemed to fly. I have personally loved all the snow we have gotten.
February’s monthly meal was a great success, not only because it was Valentine’s Day, but we all pulled together and made it a great success for the loss of our very own SAL brother, Mike Boots. I can’t begin to ex-press how grateful I personally am that we ALL came together for him, not only on dinner night but for the great turnout we had on January 30. It was a great way to remember him.
I would like to thank Primal Cuts of LaGrange also. We had run out of steaks for our February dinner, and they really pulled through by hand delivering steaks to us to get through the dinner, not to mention Miller’s Super Valu for furnishing even more needed steaks.
Some upcoming events happening at the Post, the Auxiliary will be hosting their annual Soup and Chili Cookoff on March 9th. Dawn Miller has a sign up sheet for the annual Shriner Firekeepers Casino bus trip on March 22. The cost is $40.00, and you can sign up at the bar.
We will be having our March Steak Fry on March 14 from 5-8 p.m. We will be serving our usual menu of Ribeye Steak, Butterflied Pork Chops, Butterflied Shrimp, Nuggets of Love, and Chicken Strips, along with a full salad bar again. The meal will be followed with entertainment by the Hubie Ashcraft Band. Our April meal will be on Friday, April 11. Stay tuned for details.
We have decided to postpone our Second Amendment Night for this year. It was a hard decision to make, however after pushing it to a later date, we didn’t have a lot of people sign up for it. Keep your February, 2026 Saturday nights cleared for when we have it next year.
Our monthly SAL meetings are the 4th Tuesday of every month starting at 6 p.m. and lasting roughly an hour. Please feel free to attend them. Until next time.
