Greetings Everyone,

Hopefully everyone is doing well, with spring fast approaching. This year seems to be flying by.

We have a bunch of great events that have happened recently. Between Julie’s “Chicken Plop,” and our Annual Children’s Easter Party, along with other things, our Post calendar has been quite busy, and only going to get busier.

I would like to take a moment to remember our S.A.L. brother that has passed away, Pat Fair. He fought a good fight, and battling cancer for 23 years off and on is absolutely incredible. He will be missed very much. Please keep his mother, Donna, an active Auxiliary member, and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

Our April Steak Fry was a great turnout. It was a fundraiser for the Veteran’s Headstone Project. We sold over 130 dinners that night. Our annual donation to the Veteran’s Head-stone Project will be $5,010.00.

Some upcoming events, our May Steak Fry will be for the Ark Animal Shelter. They will be pre-selling tickets for the dinner, as well as at the door. Jiggs is going to be the entertainment for the night.

Something to remember for the May meeting is that we will be having elections. It would be amazing to see every S.A.L. member show up and show their support. That meeting will be Tuesday, May 27, at 6 p.m.

We will be doing our annual cemetery flagging and court-house cross display in May. Riverside Cemetery will be on Monday, May 19, and crosses at the courthouse is scheduled for May 15.

This is my last newsletter as the S.A.L. Commander, and it has truly been a blessing to be able to do this. I have learned a lot during my term, and will still be an active part of the S.A.L. Stay tuned for the new installment of officers in June.

For God and Country.
